European Center for Environmental Economy - Foundation Event
Economy which is encouraging the protection of the environment.
This goal was defined on 20 November 2009 in Sofia by the founding members of the non-profitable association European Centre for Environmental Economy (ECCE).To enhance environmental awareness in the development in all sectors of the economy and to promote dialogue and cooperation between business, NGOs, media, public and governmental institutions, to contribute to stable economic growth in an environmentally responsible way and to attract environmentally friendly investment - this is the commitment of the founders. Founding Members of the ECEE are prominent Austrian politician, Dr. Erhard Busek - former vice-chancellor and head of the Stability Pact of the European Union, Dr. Elena Kircheva, secretary general of the Vienna Economic Forum, Ilian Vasilev - Director of Deloitte Bulgaria, which together with the total of 23 founders from Bulgaria, Austria, Germany and Macedonia are willing to achieve this goal.
By organizing forums, conferences, meetings, dialogues and discussions in civil society ECEE seek to establish contacts between Bulgarian, and Bulgarian and foreign companies, which are interested in investing not only in Bulgaria but also in neighboring countries in the region and worldwide – commented the well known journalist Mrs. Roumiana Taslakowa who was chosen president of ECEE.
Vienna Economic Talks – Sofia Meeting will be the first events, which is to be organized on 25 and 26 April in Sofia by ECEE in co-operation with VIENNA ECONOMIC FORUM and the Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism – H.E. Traicho Traikov. The organizers are convinced that under the patronage of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, a member of the Patrons Committee of Vienna Economic Forum, the selected topics of energy and Danube tourism will arouse the interest of many Bulgarian and foreign companies and will provoke and contribute ideas to the creation of many new and useful collaborations.
